StudyHustle ("StudyHustle", "we", "us", or "our"), operated by CodeWithRomi LLC, provides an AI-powered study app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. By using StudyHustle, you agree to this Policy.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide:

• Account information: name, email address, and password (or Apple Sign-In identifier) when you create an account.
• Study content: notes, text, photos of notes, PDFs, topics, and other materials you add to the app so we can generate study tools from them.
• Profile details: optional school, major, semester, and study preferences.
• Support communications: messages you send us.

Information collected automatically:

• Usage data: features used, study sessions, and in-app activity.
• Device data: device model, operating system version, app version, and a device or installation identifier.

Purchases:

• Subscription status and transaction identifiers (we do not receive or store your full payment card details: payments are processed by Apple).

2. How we use your information

We use your information to:

• Provide and operate the app, including generating summaries, flashcards, quizzes, and study plans from the material you submit;
• Maintain your account and sync your data across your devices;
• Process and manage subscriptions;
• Improve and secure the app, troubleshoot, and provide support;
• Send service-related communications (such as password resets); and
• Comply with legal obligations.

3. AI processing

To generate study tools, the content you submit (such as your notes or a topic) is sent to our AI provider, OpenAI, which processes it to return generated study material. We send only what is needed to perform the request. AI-generated output may be inaccurate or incomplete and should not be relied on as professional, academic, medical, legal, or financial advice. Do not submit sensitive personal information you do not want processed by an AI service.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

• Service providers that operate the app on our behalf, including:
  • OpenAI: AI processing of submitted content;
  • RevenueCat and Apple: subscription management and payment processing;
  • Clerk: account authentication and login;
  • Railway: application hosting and database storage;
• Legal and safety: when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security;
• Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

5. Data retention and deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from within the app (Profile → Delete Account), which permanently removes your account and associated study data, subject to limited retention required by law. You may also email us at support@codewithromi.com to request deletion.

6. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children's privacy

StudyHustle is intended for users 13 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, contact us at support@codewithromi.com and we will delete it. Where a minor uses the app, a parent or guardian should review and accept this Policy and our Terms.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under GDPR or the CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact support@codewithromi.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising them.

9. International transfers

We may process and store information in countries other than where you live, including the United States. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
